Just Stuart and Robin were available for this Sunday so in an attempt to avoid the rain we headed north to Crookrise Crag near Skipton.

After breakfast in Skipton we headed out to Embsay reservoir to park up then walk to the crag. When we got there some of the rock was damp so we settled on starting easy with Robin leading Diagonal Crack VD.

Stuart followed and we then moved onto Stuart's lead Octopus S 4a avoiding the damp part of the slab.

Robin followed and then we moved onto a 3 star route Long Climb HS 4b.

Parts of the climb were slightly sketchy but we both survived.

Stuart decided to be brave and chose Cat's Whiskers VS 4c. The crux was a step across with not much in the way of hand holds, many "Holy Moly's" were muttered by Stuart as he stepped across but he made it successfully and scrambled to the top.

Robin followed with much the same mutterings but still with success.

There was an interesting descent from one of the climbs including some caving of sorts

Fortunately the rain held off and we had another great day climbing at another new venue.
