The first "Thursday day-off" (TM) of 2022 saw Robin, Ryan, Chris, Rachel and myself going to Heptonstall Quarry.

After breakfast at the Towngate Tearoom in Heptonstallwe headed to the Quary.  Setting up shop for the morning in the Right-Hand outcrop we split into 2 climbing groups. Robin with Ryan as a 2, and myself with Rachel and Chris as a 3.

Robin & Ryan doing Mille Feuille (HS 4b) and Pocket Wall (MVS 4b) while I led The Corner (HVD 4a), Sentinel Crack(HVD 4a) and The Mitre (S 4a)

After a bit of lunch we all moved to the main area

Robin & Ryan focused first on on Fairy Steps (HS 4b) and then Fairy Steps Direct (VS 4c)

Meanwhile, I was leading Sunstroke Slab (HS 4b) which was an amazing climb, giving a great feeling of exposure while having plenty of protection and decent foot & hand placements throughout the climb.  Rachel and Chris seconding

Special thanks to Jenny who came for a nosey and took the afternoon pictures of us all

Ryan needed to go home at this point, but Chris, Rachel and I went back to the Right-Hand outcrop so Chris could take a crack at leading, choosing The Corner, a climb he was clearly happy to complete :)

Chris topping out after leading The Corner (HVD)

Having never led before, Rachel took a first step and led Peepod (D 3c)

With the light fading a little, we packed our stuff and headed home.  A great days climbing
