Trad Dad Thursday's were in short supply as annual leave ran out, so Pule Hill was chosen so travelling time could be reduced. The day was cooler than recent climbing days as the seasons were changing. Never the less we managed to climb seven routes in the cooler conditions on the natural edge.

Once we had breakfast in Marsden and trudged up the slope to Pule, Ryan offered to lead first and chose Cloister Wall S 4a.

Robin and Stuart followed.

Robin's lead next, Cracked Ridge S 4a.

Stuart and then Ryan followed

The next climb was Stuart's lead, Route Two VS 4c.

Robin followed, Ryan gave this one a miss.

Back to Ryan's lead and he chose Right Route HS 4b.

Robin's next lead was one he attempted before but backed off due to lack of gear, Overhanging Arete HVD 4a.

This time he managed it although there still wasn't much gear !

Stuart and Ryan followed

After a brief lunch break we continued with Stuart's next brave choice Suspension HS 5a.

Getting off the ground looked to be the 5a move.

Reviewing the options for starting

Stuart set off

Then wedging himself in the crack and shuffling up to the top

Ryan tried several times but just couldn't make the initial move, Robin followed but certainly not gracefully !

The final climb of the day was to be led by Stuart as he hadn't done the classic climb at Pule, Flying Buttress HS 4b.

Robin followed Stuart while Ryan sat this one out.

Another grand day out if colder than expected
