Or the day Pule fought back!

A still, dry and sunny evening at Pule  Hill was intended.

Chris and I arrived first and made our way to the Natural Edge (Right).  Chris setup to lead Has Been (VD).  I realized I'd left my climbing shoes in my other bag (it's NOT a thing!) but figured I could still follow up in my approach shoes without issue.  Robin arrived at this time and offered to walk back to my van to get them (what a star!)

These things help when climbing!

Once Chris got to the top he found himself swamped by flying ants!  A quick run up with the bug spray helped and he could establish a belay so I started to climb

As I approached the top, the ants swarmed and covered me.  I quickly untied and ran from the edge, getting rid of most of them

Once the ants had dissipated we took down the belay and re-grouped with Robin at the bottom.  We discussed options and wondered if there would be less insect issues at another outcrop so headed towards Flying Buttress

Robin sat at the top of the buttress and initially things looked positive.  However after about 5 minutes the ants made themselves known!

As it wasn't working out, we called it a day and headed back to the vehicles.  As it was still early we had enough time to head to Freeklime in Hudderfield for some indoor bouldering
