The day started with quite a bit of wet stuff falling. Pule Hill Rocks was the target and there was a bit of discussion about if it was going to be dry enough, and if the wind would help dry it if it had been wet

I got to Pule first just after 5. I was starting to think that Robin's luck had stuck again when Ryan, Matt & Robin arrived just before 5:30. No incident, just bad traffic :)
After a walk around and inspecting various faces, we decided that the rock was too damp for any serious climbing attempts so top-roping something would be better
To get us started, we setup a top rope on Amen (VD) as it was a straight forward route to do. What we didn't anticipate was the strength of the wind blowing across the valley and up the face of the crag caused negative elevation issues with the rope - it wouldn't lower off the top! We put it in a bag, but the bag was blowing up. We weighted the bag with a bit of gear, still too heavy. We attached a rucksack to it, finally it would go down. (I'm thinking that these are ideal conditions for climbing - we should weigh considerably less with the wind blowing us up!)

Once we'd all done all we could on Amen, we moved slightly right to have a mess around on Wrinkled Wall (HS 4c) and Sobeit (VS 4c), all of us completing the routes

By this time it was getting quite cold, so we ventured off to Marsden to warm up with a drink at the Riverhead Brewery Tap
